چکیده
This paper assesses the relationships between women’s dietary diversity and various indicators of agricultural biodiversity in farms Hauts-Bassins, a cotton-growing region rural western Burkina Faso. A sample 579 representative was surveyed at three different periods year. Using qualitative 24-h recall, we computed score (WDDS-10) based on ten food groups. We used four crop indicators: count (CC), Simpson’s index (SI), nutritional functional (NFD) production (PDS) same groups as WDDS-10. also counted number agroforestry tree species that provide animal raised. Mean WDDS-10 low (3.4 ± 1.5 groups) did not vary seasons, whereas consumed changed according to harvests. Farm is cereals cotton with (on average 2.2 1.0 were cultivated each farm). Results mixed models showed positively associated PDS trees species. In this area, women farming households depends on-farm nutritionally diverse crops, partly because when produced some it usually by members farm household. addition, found be negatively managed male heads, but women. Our results show assessing how latter assessed. Faso, enhancing biodiversity, especially nutrient-dense crops trees, could an appropriate way improve diversity.
